AppyKids™, a Growl Media brand, is an Ireland based startup. The brand’s mission is to create “Smart Fun for Everyone”, designing high-quality, innovative edutainment content for young children around the world, apps, videos, books, toys and more.

Edutainment content is content that is both entertaining and educational. When applied in early years learning, it supports the fundamental understanding that learning through play is vital in the development of young learners.

Keen to teach his son languages using the latest technology, the AppyKids founder struggled to find apps that were up to the task, he found nothing to his liking on the app store’s, quality-wise or ethically. Undeterred, he created his own, from the results grew AppyKids.

To date, AppyKids have released 16 interactive apps, have over 3.5 million downloads with 325,000 monthly active users globally. 2 of their apps have been “Apple Best of App’ winners.

They continue to innovate and recently launched the AppyKids Play School Smart Kit and App, a fun interactive educational toy that bridges the best of digital and physical play to offer an entertaining and immersive learning experience for children.

We believe in teaching Twenty-First Century Skills to children, our content not only introduces children to core foundation skills but also aims to develop their enhanced skills and core character traits.

Developing the enhanced skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity will help children to approach complex challenges better. Supporting children’s character growth, curiosity, initiative, persistence, adaptability, leadership and empathy, will help them navigate their changing environment. 

Combining all these elements, foundation skills, enhanced skills and core character traits, creates a progressive, holistic learning experience, educating the whole child.

This holistic approach allows us to grow our content library as a child grows, creating engaging content relevant to children depending on their age group, opening up a rich world of storytelling that enables them to explore in their own ways.
